Message from the President
Dear friends and members,
It is an honour and privilege for me as the maiden President of Groupe Renaissance du Nord (GRDN) to showcase to you a souvenir magazine marking our 1st anniversary portraying all the different numerous activities we have organised throughout the past year. It is an occasion for us to acknowledge the devotion, seriousness, hard work, love and above all unquestionable trust you all shower on us. It is very rare for a newborn group and we immensely treasre that pecial relationship. Groupe renaissance du Nord was officially ly launched on 30th January 2022 as an NGO aiming to do things differently but in an honest, truthful, respectful and transparent manner. Our mission resolves around six main pillars namely Education of needy children, Environment Protection & Conservation, Social Housing for the deprived, supporting people with disabilities, Health Promotion & Wellness and Poverty alleviation through sustainable means. We are proud to say that during our 1st year of existence, we successfully covered all of our objectives by organising no less than 22 events all year long reaching almost all spheres of our Rainbow nation. Construction of a concrete house for Mrs Antoinette of Cite EDC Pamplemousses, Early opening of Pamplemousses Botanical garden for Jogging/Walking and collection of abandoned statues of different idols and properly disposing them in a dignified manner are among many of the star projects we have achieved altogether These achievements undoubtedly are the fruits of the dedication and unconditional supportundoubtly are the fruits of the dedication andunconditional support of all members. I seize this opportunityto earmark the enormous financial contributions of our members who have relentlessly provided their own funds for the smooth and timely execution of our projects such as the construction of Mrs Antoinette’s house. As we continue to navigate the aftermath of Covid-19 and the war in Ukraine, we understand fully that the coming days will not be easy nevertheless with our determination and your unconditional support we look forward to tackling the numerous complex challenges facing our society. We also wish to seek collaboration and are open to joint ventures with other NGOs sharing the same vision and philosophy in whatever manner for the betterment of one and all. We also welcome people of all age groups wishing to help us, especially the youngsters investing more energy in social reality than social media. In the months moving forward, as we plan for the future, we will continue to explore what our community needs from us while adapting to the changes all around us. Finally, we wish to express a big note of appreciation, gratitude and thank our generous sponsors, concerned donors, committed volunteers, dedicated media partners and all well-wishers. None of our proud achievements would have been possible without your unwavering support. Your love and trust kept us moving forward all the way.

“GRDN is worth to be respected for its marvellous actions that are completely different. I have seen many existing groups and association to help others with a motive to gain something in return, but GRDN is beyond this. It is surprising how a team could have built a house in limited time for the needy. It is a real prayer. You can see the motivations of the members and their dynamics to accomplish things. The team are promoting good actions. Who could have imagined collecting all thrown Murthis from the rivers and sea, then dispose in a proper place. Who could have imagined using a part of the SSR Botanical Garden for physical activities and at the same time breathing the fresh air surrounded by rivers and trees. Needless to say, the NGO is giving importance to religious activities and inter-religious activities. It is bringing unity among the citizens of Mauritius.
